Roulette |
The history of Roulette dates back to 17th century when the game was first played in France. Roulette is still one of the most popular games in the country.
Roulette involves 8 players who play against a house represented by the croupier or the dealer who spins the roulette wheel and handles wagers and payouts. In the European version of the game the roulette wheel has 37 slots with 36 numbers and one 0, while the American version features a roulette wheel with 38 slots and two 0s.
The game starts with each player buying in different colored chips. The players bet on the numbers on the roulette wheel after which the dealer spins the wheel and launches the ball. A few moments before the rotation speed of the wheel decreases the dealer announces no more bids. Finally when the wheel stops rotating and the ball drops on a particular number and the owner of that number is the winner.
In the event of a player having won, the colored chips are exchanged with cash chips with values imprinted on them. |
