Poker, a game once played by outlaws and cheats, has developed into a celebrated sport worldwide. Professional poker players have replaced the cheats and outlaws, and now poker hands are no longer manipulated by professional cheats, instead by software programs connecting poker players around the world.

Poker is believed to have originated from a Persian card game, As Nas, played with 25 cards with five different suits. As Nas was played in a similar fashion to modern 5 card game and possessed similar poker hands. However, poker, as its known now has originated from USA. first played in New Orleans in early 18th century before the American Civil War, poker’s fame was partly due to the rapid spreading of gambling.

The online version of poker is relatively a new happening. The past few years have experienced a boom in online poker that has forever changed the features of poker.

How to play poker?
Poker is played with a deck of standard 52 cards. The cards are ranked from high to low: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2. the cards are then separated into four suites:

Hearts
Spades
Clubs
Diamonds

All the suits are of equal value.

The game starts with each player being given 5 cards. The winner is the player who ends up with the highest value hand. The hands are ranked in the following order:
