Craps |
Craps is perhaps the most exciting of all casino games. The game is played on a table built specially for it and two specially made dice are used. Dice used in craps have to comply with some strict standards and are routinely checked for damage. Generally, dice are replaced with new ones after 8 hours of use and most of the casinos have individual rules pertaining to the usage of dice by players.
The craps table generally accommodates about 20 players who get a round of throwing or shooting the dice. Players can even bet on the thrower in case they don’t want to throw the dice. Several types of bets exist. The players must handle the dice with one hand when throwing the dice, and after being thrown the dice must hit the walls of the opposite end of the table in order to be qualified. The dice may fall off the table, and in that case the stickman inspects it before putting it back to play.
A new game of Craps starts with the first roll of the dice being thrown also referred to as the Come Out Roll. If the shooter does make his Point, the dice are returned and he begins a new Come Out Roll, in this case, a continuation of the previous round. In case a shooter fails to make a Point, the dice is offered to the next to the left of the previous player. The table is divided into 3 areas: two side areas and a center area. Each side area contains a Pass and Don’t Pas line bets, Come and Don’t Come bets, Odds bets, Place bets, and Field bets. The center area is shared by both the sides and the one bet included here is the proposition bets.
Pass bets win when the first roll sums up to 7 or 11 and lose when the come out roll is 2, 3, or 12. Don’t bets win with the come out roll is 2, or 3 and lose if it is 7, or 11. In case the come roll is 12 Don’t bets tie.
