In blackjack, the players are required to place a bet before the cards are dealt and before they get to see the cards that the dealer will be dealing. Once the bet is placed, the dealer will deal two cards to every player on the table. For the dealer, he can deal one or two cards for himself but my idea is that one card is the best since it gives the other players a chance of winning the round.
Now that you have placed your bet and have the cards you can have a look at your cards. The objective of the game is that you have to reach closest to 21 to win but cannot cross 21. For example, a set of cards with value 25 will make you leave the game because you have lost your bet.
As far as the value of the cards goes, just remember that the King, the Queen, and the Jack are equivalent to 10. Ace can be either counted as 1 or 11. Hence, if you have got a King, a 10 and a 4 then you total at 24, means that you have lost your bet.
In the game of black you are allowed to hit or draw as many as 5 cards and the value of your cards shall only be pitted against the cards of the dealer. So, worry about what the dealer has got nothing else.
